  Case Story
My Story - By Lillian Maclin
As a bereaved mother, I am writing this letter in the hopes that I can obtain the audience of someone who still cares about the loss of a child. I am requesting your assistance by asking you to feature the double murder of my soon Kenneth Green, and his friend, Kiysha Hunter. Kenneth Green was raised in Washington, D.C. and was an avid football fan who hardly ever missed a Washington Redskins game. He struggled in high school, but eventually got on the right track by enrolling in a counseling program where he received training in television production. This opened up many doors for him, including the opportunity to travel around the country doing camera work for nationally televised programs and meeting celebrities. He seemed destined for a promising career in television until his life was senselessly cut short. His murder was one of hundreds in the nation's capital that year.

  A Late-Night Mystery
Police say Kenneth, 23, and his friend, Kiysha, 29, were brutally gunned down at the intersection of 33rd Place and South Dakota Avenue in northeast Washington, D.C. They were found shot to death in Kiysha's 1989 red Dodge Colt with Maryland plates during the early morning hours of August 30, 2004. Earlier that evening, they had spent time at the Crossroads nightclub in Bladensburg, Md., just outside of D.C. Because they were in a secluded section of the city, no reports of gunfire were even called in. Shortly after the shootings, a police car on patrol just happened to discover the young victims inside the car around 3:20 a.m. Grief is in and of itself a challenging enough, but to compound this travesty, my son's murderer is still out there. With the pull of a trigger, he riddled my son and his friend with bullets, stealing their lives from them and sadly changing our lives forever.

  Little To Go On
Police have struggled with the lack of information, witnesses and possible motives for this case. Neither victim had any recent troubles or arguments, and both were caring parents. Now, Kenneth's children live with their mothers, but his death has still left a void in their lives. Police hope that someone in the community might be able to shed some light on the case so that they can find out why someone would want to kill these two well-liked and flourishing young people. To date, no one has been charged in these heinous murders and as time lapses, the odds become less that the murderer will be brought to justice. I believe that with your help, someone will come forward with information that will lead to an arrest...I believe that I owe it to my son, his friend, our families, the four children that lost their parents and myself to reach out for help in solving this crime. I am living in my own prison, unable to have closure and unwilling to rest until every avenue is exhausted and justice is served.
