Police: Teen May Be With Internet Predator |

Police in Houston, Texas were searching for a 16-year-old girl who may have been lured away from her home by a man she corresponded with online.
Meagan Minton was last seen at the Randall's grocery store on Kirkwood Road near West Bellfort Street in southwest Houston using a change machine at about 7 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2005. She has not been seen since. An AMBER Alert was issued Tuesday morning.
Investigators thought Meagan might have boarded a Greyhound bus headed for an unknown area of Georgia, Florence, S.C., or Dillon, S.C. Authorities were concerned because they suspected she went to see a college-aged man who goes by the name James or Jamie with whom she has chatted on the Internet.
"It could be an Internet predator. We are not sure, so we would rather err on the side of caution," Meadows Place Police Department Chief Mike Pickett said. |

Police Say Man Had Suicidal Conversation |

Authorities in Meadow Place and Fort Bend County said the college-aged man had suicidal conversations with Meagan during at least one online chat session.
"Because of the fact that some of the things seen on her computer, there's the potential that she is being lured into a situation that she won't be able to handle at her age," Pickett said.
Meagan was last seen wearing a red shirt, blue jeans, a black jacket, a frog ring on her right finger and was carrying a purple backpack. She is 5 feet 11 inches tall with blue eyes and brown hair.
Authorities were hopeful that some of her friends will come forward with information about where she might have gone and why. Friends and family say Meagan's disappearance was extremely out of character for her. Her mother says she an honor roll student at Hightower High School and has never been in trouble. |
