FBI: Truck Driver Befriends, Molests Girls |

Agents say that in 1994, truck driver Edward Harper molested two little girls, ages 3 and 7, in Hernando, Miss.
When the girls told their parents, cops obtained a search warrant. But when they raided Harper's trailer home, he was nowhere to be found.
Long after the raid, a highway officer in Utah performed a routine traffic stop and pulled over Harper and his wife traveling out west. When the officer ran his name, the warrant came to the officer's attention. Cops arrested Harper and extradited him back to Mississippi, but a judge let him out on bond.
No one's seen him since. |

Before his arrest, he told his wife that if he ever had to hide somewhere, he would go to Montana or Wyoming.
While Harper ran from the law, his mother received several letters from an "Ed Hormon" -- a known alias of Harper's. Sure enough, the letters mentioned his doing ranch work in Montana and Wyoming.
Harper's phone calls to his half-sister mentioned "cattle work," but he was careful not to reveal his location.
Harper's mother died in 1998, but whoever placed her obituary wrote that she had a son in Montana.
Harper's family describes him as a survivalist, and that he's used to living outside of modern society. He never uses a social security number and may be hard to track down. He once worked as a truck driver, and might be doing that now to stay on the move.
Harper is charged with sexual battery, fondling, and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
On Nov. 29, 2008, the FBI placed Harper on their infamous Ten Most Wanted Fugitives List. |
