My Story by Diana Boye |
|
| |
He lived until he died. He loved life. He believed in the mission, he believed in the Marine Corps. His loss has left a big hole in the world for a lot of us. I miss listening to him play his guitar. He is missed by a lot of people. Email My Story To A Friend
Marine Corps Private Noah L. Boye was killed on April 13, 2004. He was only 21 years old. He was serving his second tour of duty in Iraq when his rapid response team was ambushed by insurgents. The vehicle Noah was traveling in was hit by a rocket propelled grenade (RPG) and he died before they could get him to the aid station.
He was a fantastic man and a fantastic human being. When he came home from Iraq in June of 2003 you could just see the pride dripping off of him. He was my pride and joy. His comrades would say he was a Marines Marine. |

Woman Steals From Scholarship Fund |
|
| |
Noah's family and friends were devastated by the news. Noah's brother, Gary, wanted to honor him and his memory by establishing a scholarship fund in Noah's name. But nothing turned out the way Gary had planned.
When Gary and his then girlfriend, Shari Rel, went to the U.S. Bank in Grand Island, NE to set up the account for Noah's scholarship fund, Gary had forgotten to bring along his ID. Shari Rel had her ID and subsequently offered to establish the account in her name.
In the following months, Noah's parents, Diana and Brett, collected donations and made deposits into the account. There was, at one time, more than $4,700 available in the account. However, what they didn't know then was that all the while Shari Rel was stealing from the account.
When Gary and Shari decided to break up, Rel was supposed to have given the money in the account to Diana but she never heard from her. So Diana went to the police. Then, on October 4, 2004, Rel was arrested for posession of a controlled substance in another county. Police in Box Butte weren't aware of the investagation going on in Grand Island and she was released pending a court date a few days later. Cops say that was just enough time for Rel to take the money and run. |

On The Run |
|
| |
Rel apparently took her two children to their father's home in New Mexico and left them there. The kids' dad said she boarded a bus for Texas and he hasn't heard from her since. He has reportedly filed abandonment charges against her.
Cops say Rel may be in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Florida or possibly California where she has relatives. She has worked as a cashier and a waitress and may be working for an escort service in the Austin, Texas area. She may have changed her name and her appearance.
Diana has a message for Rel; Justice will be served and you will pay for what you did to Noah's sacrifice. She won't spit on anyone else's sacrifice after the law gets a hold of her. |
