My Story - By Kimberley Butler Whitehurst |
|
| |
My name is Kimberley Whitehurst. I am writing to you to see if there is any way you can air a show on my brother's killing. It has now been six months, all the investigations, questioning people, fingerprints and evidence and still no killer or answers have been found. My parents have not been the same since my only brother was murdered. He was the type of man who didn't bother anyone and anything he could do to help you, he would.

Anthony Butler Found Dead In His Home |
|
| |
On January 11, 2005 Anthony "Ant" Butler, 33, was late arriving to work at his job at the PET Dairy in Portsmouth, VA. A co-worker notified family members and Anthony's best friend, Tommy Harris, went to the small, one-bedroom apartment where Anthony lived to check on him. Tommy made a gruesome discovery. There was blood on the outside of the front door. The door was locked, but Tommy went to a window and forced it open. He saw Anthony's lifeless body lying on the floor. He had been shot in the chest. When police questioned neighbors, none of them claimed to have seen or heard anything. |

Family Grieves Over Loss Of Good Man |
|
| |
"If it was a car accident or natural causes, I could deal with it better," says Kimberley Whitehurst. "But it was a murder, cold blooded. If you could do that to someone like Anthony you could do that to anybody."
Anthony attended Norfolk State University for a year after graduating from high school. He worked at the dairy company and dreamed of having his own business and of having a family one day. By all accounts, Anthony was a laid-back, friendly and generous guy. "He would give you his last and be without if you really needed it," said Tommy Harris.
Police are still investigating the killing. |
