  Case Story
Do You Know Where My Mommy And Daddy Are?
On Sunday, September 11, 2005 around 8:00 in the evening a man was driving along Holly Springs Drive in Carroll County, Georgia (a suburb of Atlanta.) Much to his surprise, he noticed what looked like a child strolling along the side of the road dangerously close to traffic. The man immediately pulled over, picked up the child and took the toddler to a nearby gas station where he called the local authorities.  Deputies from the Carroll County Sheriff's Office arrived quickly. The man who had found the child introduced them to the wide-eyed, brown-haired little Hispanic boy. He appeared to be 2-3 years old.  He was wearing old blue overalls, a blue striped shirt and black sandals.  As he sat in a chair he stared back at the group of men with a sad look of fright and innocence.

  Authorities Ask AMW For Help
"We haven't been able to find out who he is or where his family is. This is the first time we've ever had a case like this," Sheriff Terry Langley said. "Children are normally not abandoned on the side of the roadway like this. He said the child could have been abandoned by his parents, could be an evacuee from Katrina, or someone could have taken his parents and left the child. "Right now, we are investigating all possibilities," Langley said. Deputies took the young boy to the sheriff's office and called the Department of Children's Services.  DCS took custody of the child while deputies searched the area, interviewing residents near where the child was found.  However, they found no family claiming the child.  Nor did they find a family bearing any physical resemblance. Authorities have exhausted every effort to locate any relatives of the boy.  Now they are expanding their search and have asked America's Most Wanted to step in and help reunite this child with some responsible relatives.
