  Case Story
  Pregnant Woman Vanishes
26-year-old Amanda Jones has not been seen since Sunday, August 14, 2005. Amanda worked as a loan processor at Eagle Bank in Festus, MO.  She was last seen at the horse-show grounds of the Hillsboro Civic Center on Highway 21 in central Jefferson County at about 5 p.m.  Among the concerns is the fact that Amanda was nine months pregnant. Family members said she had gone to the fair grounds to meet with Bryan Westfall, who is believed to be the father of her then-unborn baby. Police said Jones was reported missing by her parents, who were babysitting her 4-year-old daughter.

Clues And Tips Lead To Dead End
During the early stages of the investigation, Westfall was considered a "person of interest" by investigators. He was the last person to see Amanda alive at the fairgrounds. Westfall denied any involvement in the disapearance of Amanda and cooperated with authorities. Cops searched Westfall's home and property and came up with nothing. About 80 to 100 police officers and firefighters searched the fairgrounds and nearby woods but found no trace of Amanda or any clue as to her whereabouts. Police found Amanda's unlocked car at the fairgrounds and collected trace evidence from it, but found no good clues. Police checked with area hospitals, searched Amanda's home and visited the homes of her friends, but found nothing suspicious there either. Westfall is not considered a suspect due to lack of any relevant evidence.

  Family Wants Closure
Amanda's family held a vigil in her remembrance where family and friends met, prayed and sang. Family members admit that now that it has been over a year since Amanda's disapearence, the situation looks grim, but her mother and sisters say they still want closure. A $100,000 reward has been offered by a philanthropist from Philadelphia for information that solves the case. Police describe Amanda as 5-foot-8 and about 225 pounds. She has blue eyes, blond hair and a dolphin tattoo on her left upper torso. When she was seen last, she was wearing a pink shirt and pink sandals.Police are circulating a photo of Jones wearing eyeglasses.  However, family members say she was wearing contact lenses when she disappeared.
