Convicted Felon At It Again |
|
| |
Cops say Anthony Quick has already been convicted of 26 counts of Grand Theft and one count of Fraud for scamming unassuming elderly victims. Now, officials say he's at it again, and this time, he's on the run.
In 2004, an eighty-three year old woman who we'll call Rose was told her husband had terminal cancer. Shortly after hearing the devastating news, things just got worse. |

Elderly Woman Victimized |

Cops say Rose went to a local market to pick up some groceries for her ailing husband. When she got back to her car, she noticed that her door was not completely closed. As Rose struggled to shut the door, cops say Anthony Quick approached her and offered to help. Officials say Quick claimed that he was in the auto mechanic business and could help her, but the part needed to fix her door was $4,250.00.
Rose immediately became upset and confused. She told Quick that her husband was very sick, and she needed to get home to take care of him. Then, cops say Quick offered to fix her car immediately if Rose had the cash. According to officials, Quick asked Rose to drive to a local bank branch to get the money. She wrote him a check and handed over the cash. With money in hand, cops say Quick quickly took action.
Cops say Quick then put on a glove, pulled at the door, thanked Rose for money and took off. |

New Clues Place Quick In Atlanta |
|
| |
But cops in Atlanta, Ga. are now joining the search for Quick. Police say Quick used his old evil strategy once again. They say he met a 75-year-old woman at a gas station, helped her pump her gas and offered her his services to do some work at her house. But there were no good intentions behind his kind acts. Police say that after befriending the woman, Quick stole from her house, a platinum diamond ring, a platinum diamond wedding band, a 14k gold bracelet, and a gold broach with diamonds -- more than $2800 worth of jewelry!
On March 2, 2006 police in Fulton County arrested Anthony Quick, but he was released the following day and hasn't been seen since. However cops say he may be driving a 2007 white Chevrolet Tahoe.
