Police Searching For Missing Oregon Four-Year-Old |

Four-year-old Matal Zachery Sanchez was reported missing Wednesday, June 29, 2005. Dozens of searchers spent the evening looking for him.
Matal was last seen about 3 p.m. at his home in a Portland suburb. He lives with his mother and grandmother and was reported missing at 3:30 p.m.
Police thought Matal might be with the grandmother, but they say he was not with her when she returned home at about 6:30. On Thursday, police took her car into custody. |

Multi-Agency Grid Search Underway |

Roughly 60 people from different police agencies were performing a grid-by-grid search starting from the boy's house and expanding outward.
Police say there had been no reports of suspicious characters in the neighborhood. Matal's father does not live in the home, but he went there Wednesday after being alerted to his son's disappearance.
Matal was last seen wearing black jeans, a black-and-gray T-shirt and brown sandals. He's 3 feet tall and weighs 45 pounds. |
