Sex Offender Disappears Without Registering |

In 1987, Charles Randall Brunson was sentenced to 35 years in a Texas prison for shooting a man to death and injuring a young woman who was caught in the crossfire. But three years into his sentence, Brunson was released on an appeal bond. Outside of prison, police say Brunson continued his violent behavior.
Brunson returned to his family and began to repeatedly sexually assault his own four-year-old daughter. Brunson was arrested, convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a child and sent back to prison. But he was paroled with an electronic tracking bracelet in March 2000. |

Hi-Tech Bracelet Tips Police: Brunson Is On The Run |

On November 19, 2000, authorities from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Parole Division received a "tamper alert" from their fugitive GPS tracking system, indicating that something was wrong with Brunson's tracking bracelet. Officers rushed to Brunson's address in Del Valle and found that he had somehow cut off his tracking bracelet and skipped town.
Warrants were immediately issued for Brunson's arrest due to his parole violation. Brunson has not surfaced since leaving the Austin area in November 2000 and he has not registered as a convicted sex offender as required by law. |
