  Case Story
  Police Release New Clues
Cops in Newark, Delaware are releasing new pieces of information in their investigation of 20-year-old Lindsey Bonistall's murder. Police are hoping the new developments -- a composite sketch of a man who could potentially be linked to Lindsey's death, and some writing found scrawled on Lindsey's off-campus apartment wall -- will help lead to the arrest of her cold-blooded killer.

  The Writing On The Wall
Lindsey was found dead in her apartment on May 1, 2005. Initially, authorities say they responded to a fire in her apartment, unaware Lindsey was there. It wasn't until a few hours later they discovered her body among the debris. But cops say Lindsey didn't die in the fire. They say Lindsey's attacker raped her, strangled her to death, then set her apartment on fire to cover up the crime. Luckily, the killer may have left a big clue at the murder scene. Cops say they found some writing on Lindsey's apartment wall amidst her charred belongings. Though they won't say what the killer's message was or how it was written, cops say it could be a big help in determining who viciously murdered the college co-ed. Investigators are also looking into a possible connection between Lindsey's killer and a suspect wanted for questioning in another break-in that took place just a few blocks from Lindsey's apartment the night before Lindsey's murder. The victims were two female University of Delaware students who happened to be home during the attack. They were luckier than Lindsey was -- cops say the most damage the attacker managed was stealing one of the girls' bank cards. Cops say ATM surveillance cameras later captured video of the man cashing out the card. Police released a composite sketch of the man based on the description given by one of the home invasion victims. Cops say the victim thinks the man in the security camera footage is the same man who broke into her home. Cops say they are not ruling out a possible link between the two break-ins.

  A Community In Shock
Cops in Newark say there had been a dramatic increase in burglaries in the area since November 2004. But that rise in crime was beginning to taper off, cops say -- until these two break-ins. Now, they say the community is shocked, saddened, and terrified by Lindsey's tragic murder. Lindsey attended the University of Delaware, where friends and family said she was a cheerful and popular sophomore majoring in English and Journalism.
