Mental Patient Disappears |

Detectives in Russellville, Alabama are desparately searching for a woman who walked away from a group home that treats adults with mental problems.
On the afternoon of March 25, 2005, a patient at the group home informed the staff that 56-year-old Yu Chin Chang Goodson had left the facility about 15 minutes earlier. The property owners quickly contacted the police and began searching for the missing woman. Officers interviewed a witness who claimed to have seen a woman who matched Goodson's description getting into a car that was headed toward Decatur, Alabama.
Investigators sent alerts to agencies in the surrounding areas about the missing woman, but they have yet to find her. Yu Chin had only been at the group home for several months, but she has been under psychiatric care for the past 16 years. Police say Yu Chin suffers from paranoid schizophrenia, diabetes, and a heart problem. She needs to take medication on a daily basis to treat these conditions. Detectives have exhausted all leads as to Yu Chin's whereabouts and are deeply concerned for her safety. |
