Teenager Disappears From North Carolina |
|
| |
Pamela Waldher was only living in North Carolina for 18 months before she wanted to make a return trip to her hometown on the West Coast, according to authorities. Pamela had grown up there under her grandparents' supervision and had moved east to live with her father. But Pamela never made it to see her grandparents.
When Pamela first went missing on January 22, 2005, authorities say they considered her a potential runaway. But when they discovered Pamela hadn't taken the medication she needs with her, they knew something serious had happened.
Authorities issued an AMBER alert for Pamela, and military and local police conducted an extensive search at Fort Bragg after Pamela's backpack and some of her clothing was found -- but the search didn't bring investigators closer to finding Pamela. |

Family And Friends Hope Together |
|
| |
Pamela was a sophomore at Terry Sanford High in Fayetteville, N.C. when she disappeared. Shocked by her disappearance, friends and family members gathered in front of the school for a candlelight vigil. Pamela's grandfather, Steve Waldher, said the vigil served as a strand of hope that Pamela would come home safely.
Pamela's family is pleading for her safe return, and says they are doing everything they can to encourage anyone who might know where she is to come forward with potential leads. Steve Waldher is offering a $10,000 reward for information concerning Pamela's whereabouts. |
