  AMW.COM Tip Intensifies Hunt
  >>More billboard photos AMW has made sure everybody in Paterson, New Jersey knows Rashawn Capers' face. On July 15, Viacom helped AMW erect a 14-by-48 foot "wanted" billboard of Capers after an AMW.COM  tip placed him in Paterson, New Jersey.  The billboard was unveiled along Route 21 near Dayton Avenue, on the approach to Paterson from Passaic. Since cops believe Capers is still in the area, they hope this high profile sign will place some added pressure on the suspected murderer and give cops the information they need to bring him to justice. Cops say the AMW.COM tip placed Capers in the Paterson, Newark, and Irvington areas of New Jersey--out at nightclubs. This new information led police to two locations, a relative's house and a nightclub in the area. Capers did not turn up at either scene, but cops are confident the hunt for this suspected killer is near an end. Cops say Capers took offense to Dayshawn's involvement and brutally stabbed him. Police Officer's Worst Nightmare Dayshawn's father, Officer Wayne Smith. Officer Wayne Smith is an 18-year veteran with the Paterson, New Jersey Police Department. The 41-year-old has responded to scores of calls over the years, but on March 25, 2005 he responded to a call that will no doubt be the most tragic of his career. Officer Smith responded to a call about a fight at 3:45 in the morning. As he arrived at the scene, Smith saw a crowd surrounding a person lying on the ground. As he reached the body, Smith transformed from Officer to father, as he realized the victim was his own son--20-year-old, Dayshawn Smith. Dayshawn was rushed to the hospital, but his wounds were too serious and he was later pronounced dead.    A Fight For Justice Police say Rashawn Capers was starting a fight when Dayshawn tried to stop him. Cops say Capers took offense to Dayshawn's involvement and brutally stabbed him. Capers is charged with murder, attempted murder and weapons possession.
