Meares Goes On Run With Rosie |

In November of 2003, 27-year-old Stephanie Meares became a mother. But, she wasn't your typical first time mom. North Carolina cops say Meares was a crack addict and was hopping from boyfriend to boyfriend. Robert Paul Jackson, 54, is believed to be the father of the child and the two of them cared for little Rosie.
Soon the relationship began to deteriorate and the little girl was shuttled between the two parents. According to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, Robert was outraged when he heard that Meares was having affairs. He had been supporting her and agents say in June of 2004 Robert told Meares that he was going to stop supporting her if she didn't straighten up.
On June 26, 2004, Meares met with Robert at his mobile home in the White Oak area of Bladen County, N.C. SBI agents say the couple argued, then Meares walked behind Robert, who was sitting in his recliner, and shot him execution-style. SBI agents and Bladen County Sheriff's Department call this a cold blooded murder. |
