"Deano," A Role Model? |

Charles Dean worked as a house manager in a home for juvenile boys in Georgetown, SC. Dean was thought to be a role model for young boys struggling with abusive families. Dean used this position to sexually abuse these young boys. In a juvenile center, like this one, in Georgetown, SC, the last role model these boys needed was a man like Dean.
In March 2000 reports surfaced about Dean sexually abusing the young males under his supervision. With the reports from several young boys, the cops had enough evidence to charge Dean. He was present at his preliminary trial in October 2001, but then fled before his formal trial in November 2001.
The trial convened despite Dean's absence. The jury found Dean guilty of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor and Disseminating Obscene Material to a Minor. Also during the trial it was revealed that Dean would lace nighttime cold medicine with alcohol so he could display pornography to the boys, and then sexually assault them. This sexual predator is still on the loose. |
