  Case Story
  Deputies Search For Fetus
Police are trying to find an infant they say could still be alive after being cut from its mother's womb.  Police say they believe the fetus is a girl. The child's mother, 23-year-old Bobbie Jo Stinnett, was eight months pregnant. Her mother found her inside her apartment at 3:38 p.m. on Thursday.  Paramedics tried to revive the woman but she was pronounced dead.

  Deptuies Issue AMBER Alert
The Nodaway County Sheriff's Department issued an AMBER Alert about 12:30 a.m. for the child. The alert said police are looking for a suspect who may have blond hair who was possibly driving a red vehicle.  Police are searching for a red 2-door hatch back, possibly a 1980's or 1990's Honda or Hyundai.  This car was seen outside the Stinnett home Thursday afternoon. The sheriff's department said officials did not know if the person they were looking for was a man or woman.

  Deputies Search for Clues
Police have not been able to determine the cause of death.  However, they say thay are leaning towards strangulation.  Investigators say they know the woman was alive within an hour of being found dead.  Police say there were no visible signs of a struggle on the woman's body.  The Sheriff's department issued a statement advising people to look for bloody clothing or towels and said the infant could have health issues and would have a freshly cut umbilical cord if alive. Bobbi Jo Stinnett and her husband had been married a little over a year and were expecting their first child.  The husband was at work at the time Bobbi Jo was found dead.  The Sheriff's office said the couple had no known enemies.  According to neighbors the couple raised rat terrier dogs.
