FBI Agents Release
New Video of Possible al-Qaeda Suspect |

Investigators say they've got plenty of reasons to want to talk with Adnan el Shukrijumah. They say he's tight with the mastermind of 9/11, Khalid Sheik Mohammed. They've tied him to alleged "dirty bomber" Joseph Padilla, and now they think he may be casing new targets for terrorist attacks.
The FBI has issued a "Be on the Lookout" (BOLO) alert for Adnan G. El Shukrijumah. Recently, agents released video of El Shukrijumah from 1997. The video shows him giving a presentation on how to jump start a car during an English as a Second Language class.
Like the 9/11 attackers, Shukrijumah received flight training in Florida. He was even given the nickname, "Jafar the Pilot." Unlike the 9/11 hijackers, Shukrijumah has had plenty of exposure to the U.S. His father was an interpreter at a New York mosque, helping the notorious "Blink Sheik" Omar Abdel Rahman. |

Agents Want to Question El Shukrijumah About Future Terrorist Attacks |

Agents say El Shukrijumah has not been charged with any crime, but they believe that Shukijumah may have information that could help their terrorism investigation.
Earlier this year, the Justice Department announced they discovered Shukrijumah did some training with accused terrorist, Joseph Padilla. They say in April, 2001, the two studied how to build and detonate a "dirty bomb," which would spread nuclear material over a large area.
More recently, intelligence officials have tied Shukrijumah to information they collected in Pakistan. Officials arrested an Al-Qaeda member, and on his computer they found detailed plans of financial buildings in New York, New Jersey and Washington D.C. One of those buildings was the New York Stock Exchange. Officials now believe that Shukrijumah provided the information for the Stock Exchange, and may have been planning on bombing that target by packing a limousine with explosives and detonating it near or under the building.
The FBI has retraced Shukrijumah's movements before and after 9/11, but do not know where he is today. They believe he may be in possession of multiple passports, including ones from the countries of Guyana, Canada and Trinidad. So while officials do not believe he is in the U.S., he may have the capability of moving in and out of the country. |
