Father Accused of Killing In-Laws, Stealing Kids |
|
| |
Police in Kennewick, Washington are on a hunt for James Moran -- a man accused of attacking his wife, murdering his in-laws, and kidnapping his own children.
On July 9, 2004, Glenn and Debbie Carr were spending their Friday night at home, when Moran, their son-in-law, allegedly showed up at their house. Cops say nothing could have prepared them for what Moran was about to do. Moran allegedly pulled out a gun and shot both of them.
His daughter, 7-year-old Jaime, was staying in the house with his in-laws and neighbors say they saw Moran and Jaime drive away together. Cops say Moran's other children were staying at a different location, and he stopped to pick them up before going on the run with all four of them.
An AMBER Alert was immediately issued for the Moran children, and a description of Moran and the car in which they fled was circulated.
The next morning, police in Moses Lake, Washington got a call from Moran's mother, letting them know the children were safely in her custody. Children Services picked up the kids.
Police say Moran had been driving back from Arkansas with his wife Mandy. At some point, Moran allegedly attacked his wife and abandoned her before returning to the Northwest to get his kids. Mandy is now in protective custody, fearing for her life. All four of her children are also being looked after until Moran is caught. |

Police Raid House |
|
| |
Neighbors of the fugitive in Kennewick reported seeing a car near Moran's house that may have belonged to him. Police immediately swarmed the area, evacuated the neighbors, and surrounded Moran's house. They tried to contact Moran inside, but there was no response -- so police used tear gas to try to get him to come out. When that tactic failed, a SWAT team entered the house, but found no one inside. Police are unsure if Moran was ever even in the house, but say there's one thing they've never been more sure of -- this accused killer has got to be brought to justice.
