Police Say Lover's Revenge Led To Kidnapping of 8-Year-Old |

Police in Lafayette, Indiana say 8-year-old Jacquelin Ortiz is the pawn in a sick game of jealous revenge. They say 26-year-old Carlos Ramirez-Gonzales abducted Jacquelin from her apartment at 6:30 am on Sunday, July 4th.
Gonzales is the former boyfriend of Jacquelin's mother. Cops say that on hearing she had a new boyfriend, Gonzales exacted revenge by abducting innocent 8-year-old Jacquelin. |

Police believe Gonzales used two cars in the kidnapping; he nabbed Jacquelin in his battered gray Ford Thunderbird, but that car was found abandoned in a nearby Walmart parking lot. It was there, police say that Gonzales switched cars -- hopping into a maroon / red Pontiac Grand Am that he had just bought two days earlier.
Police have had no positive sightings of Gonzales and Jacquelin since then. Gonzales has an arrest history and police believe Jacquelin is in extreme danger. |
