James Accused of Vicious Stabbing |
|
| |
On February 15, 1996, the Springfield Police Department received a 911 call in regards to a domestic dispute. Upon arriving at the scene, police were told by the woman inside, Terri Thomas, that she wanted her ex-boyfriend, Antonio James, to leave her home. Police escorted James from the premises teliling him not to come back. As James skulked off, he had other plans in mind.
The next morning, at 8:20 a.m., police received another 911 call from the same address reporting a possible deceased victim. Investigators determined that some time during the night James returned and broke into the home through the victim's second story bedroom window as she slept. Terri's three children were found in bed with her body, having crawled into bed with her either before or after the murder.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of a single stab wound to the chest. Warrants for the immediate arrest of James were issued to the Springfield Police Department. There has been no sign of James since. |
