  Case Story
Police Say Drunk Driver Kills Mother, Daughter
A family struggles daily with the tragic loss of two of their own. Four-year-old Monica Sinclair should have been starting kindergarten and her mother, Lisa's, dream life was cut short when they were struck fatally by a drunk driver. Olin Earl Young, Jr. is wanted by the Maudlin Police Department for two counts of felony DUI, involving fatalities, and three counts of felony DUI, involving great bodily injury.

Police say on August 27, 1999 Young had a few drinks at a local bar and then got in his car to drive home. As he was speeding home, officials say Young failed to stop at a light, and drove into the back of a car, pushing that car into an intersection and under an 18-wheeler. Sadly, 28-year-old Lisa Sinclair and her four year old daughter, Monica Sinclair, died at the scene. Lisa's mother told a local newspaper, "One night a man just took out children like it wasn't nothing. He just walked out of that accident, but the didn't get to walk out." Young was arrested and jailed. But, then he asked for and received a hearing for bond reduction after being charged. He posted the $150, 000 bond, with the help of family members and was a free man. He never showed up for court and is still on the run.
