  Case Story
  $20 bucks for a guitar?
Cops say Anthony Carter was mad at his friend Joseph Costa.  Costa had apparently sold Carter's prized guitar for a mere $20.  Cops say on November 13, 2000, Carter got back at his friend by shooting and killing him.  He was soon arrested and sent to the Travis County Correctional Facility awaiting trial.

  A free man once again
Once in jail, cops say Carter began plotting his escape.  Soon enough, he'd team up with fellow inmate Troy Bailey.  On October 21, 2001, cops say the duo put their plan into action. Cops say the two stuffed prison uniforms to make dummies.  Then, they say the two found a weak spot in a fence in the jail's recreation area.  After prying that hole open, cops say the two made their escape.  Bailey was recovered, but Anthony Carter slipped away.

  The escape artist strikes again
In November 2001, Carter found himself in jail once again.  This time, he was housed in the Jefferson Parish Jail in Jennings, Lousiana.  The sheriff says on November 9, Carter escape from their facility by slipping through an open door, up a pipe chute, onto the roof and on to freedom.
