Robbery Turns To Murder |
|
| |
On December 13, 2001, 19-year-old Julio Moreno brought his friend 17-year-old Jessie Lazenby over to Cassandra "Poochie" Washington's house to collect some money. When the boys went into her home, the lights were dim, and she began digging through her purse. Police say Bryan Ayers, Leonard Deals and Ronald Hines jumped the boys, threw them onto the ground and robbed them of the money in their pockets.
Ayers, Seals, Hines and Washington forced Julio and Jessie into Julio's car as two of the suspects got in and the others got into Washington's white Oldsmobile. One of the suspects drove Julio's Camero outside of town, and Washington followed. Police say the suspects told Julio and Jessie to get out of the car, take their pants off and start walking. According to officials, as Julio took his pants down, one of the men shot him in the head while Jessie watched. Then, police say they shot Jessie five times in the chest, arm and shoulder, fleeing in Washington's car. Julio died at the scene, but amazingly Jessie survived. He managed to drive a car to a nearby adult video store called the Love Shack where a good Samaritan saved his life. Police believe Washington, Ayers, Seals and Hines fledto their home turfin New Orleans, LA after the shooting. |

Cassandra Washington Found Dead |
|
| |
After we aired the Cassandra Washington story in February 2002, an AMW viewer called the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Department in Louisiana to say that she believed Cassandra Washington might be the unidentified burned female the police found in a truck along the Earhart Expressway in New Orleans. According to the viewer, she had seen the segment about Washington on AMW, read about the mystery body in the local paper, and put two and two together.
After DNA testing, the results concluded that the murder victim was indeed Cassandra Washington. Washington had been shot in the head and then set on fire in a parked truck. Police say Ayers, Seals and Hines are wanted for questioning in her murder and are also wanted in the Julio Moreno murder in Texas. According to New Orleans Police, Leonard Seals is also wanted for questioning in a 1998 murder and another 2002 murder in New Orleans. |
