Suspected Murderer Escapes |
|
| |
The Texas Rangers and deputies from the Hood County Sheriff's Office are searching for David Veal. Police say Veal escaped on February 13, 2001, from the Hood County Prison in Granbury, Texas. Deputies say David Veal loosened a shower head in his cell and managed to punch a hole in the cinder block. Authorities say he climbed through the hole and made his way to an air vent. Once in the air vent, police say Veal then made his way to the roof and jumped over the barbed wire fence. |

David Veal was being held at the Hood County Jail for the murder of Charles Henderson at the time of his escape. Police say Veal was hired by Henderson's wife, Twila Henderson, to kill her husband. Authorities say that on April 26, 2000, David Veal was waiting in Charles Henderson's home for him to return from work. According to officials, when Charles walked through the door around 9:00 p.m. that night, Veal shot him twice in the chest, killing him. |
