  Case Story
Shy Computer Guy is Wanted For Brutal Murder of Wife
Cops say that Gordon Douglas Weaver wanted his wife dead because she wanted out of their marriage and had an expensive life insurance policy.  Weaver is wanted for the October 16, 1999 murder of his wife, Jean.  Police in White Bear Lake, Minnesota say that on that fateful Saturday morning, the Weavers had an argument in the basement of their home about Jean leaving Gordon.  During the argument, cops say Gordon Weaver knocked his wife unconscious.  That's when police say Weaver set her still-living body on fire.  The resulting blaze killed Jean Weaver and destroyed their home.  Weaver was arrested on October 31, 1999, and spent two days in jail prior to being released on bond. Weaver promptly disappeared from Minnesota.

  Weaver - Dead or Alive?
Police say Weaver next turned up in Illinois -- where he tried to stage his own death. The vehicle that Weaver was driving was found next to a river in Summit, Illinois. Some of Weaver's personal belongings were subsequently recovered near a bus stop in Chicago. On March 15, 2000, a Ramsey County, Minnesota, Grand Jury indicted Weaver (in abstentia) for the murder of his wife.  The U.S. Magistrate in Minneapolis, Minnesota,  issued a federal arrest warrant on March 28, 2000.  The warrant charges Gordon Douglas Weaver with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
