Man Could Be Connected To Construction Scams On Elderly |

Washington state police say they want to catch James R. Brown so they can put a stop to a string of repair scams they believe he's connected to. But that's not all. Authorities are also on the lookout for Brown and his sidekick because they say the pair could be armed and dangerous. It all started in February of 1999. That's when police say Brown conned his first victim -- an 81-year-old woman. According to the King County Sheriff's Office, Brown talked the woman into paying him $200 to seal her driveway. The woman told police Brown never did the work, but the that's only the beginning of the alleged scammer's trail. |

Police reports state that Brown and his alleged accomplice also took cash from the woman's purse.
The pair allegedly struck again and again, leaving behind a string of at least 10 elderly victims. Not only that, police say some of the victims encountered a more violent side of Brown. They say in one case, Brown and his accomplice tied up an elderly woman before swiping her cash and credit cards.
Police say they think Brown and his accomplice could still be traveling together. |
