Violent Home Invasion Leads to Murder |
|
| |
Boris George Graham is wanted by the Los Angeles police department for murder. On the night of February 8, 1999, police say Graham and Kirell Francis Taylor committed a home invasion robbery that ended in the death of thirty-year-old Chirstopher Rawlings. |

Father, Husband Left for Dead |

Rawlings, a self-made millionaire, husband, and father of two young daughters, was returning to his Woodland Hills home from an errand when police say he was attacked in his garage by two masked men, tied up, and thrown in the trunk of his two-hundred-thousand dollar Bentley. Barbi, Rawlings' wife, was hiding upstairs with the two children and called 911. According to officials, the two assailants were listening to a police scanner and knew cops were on their way. Police say they jumped in Christopher's Bentley, with him still tied up in the trunk, and sped off.
A high speed chase ensued through the San Fernando Valley ending in a violent car crash. The Bentley hit another car, crashed into a utility pole, and finally rammed into a tree. Sadly, the force of the crash ejected Christopher from the trunk. His body flew 40 feet, slammed into a concrete wall, and was left fatally injured. |

Most of the evidence at the scene was destroyed by the fire and water, but detectives did have a ski mask that was left behind by one of the perps and a composite sketch. The case was highly publicized in the media, and in July 1999, a tip came in naming the location of one of the perpetrators. Kirell Taylor was arrested and charged with the murder of Christopher Rawlings on July 13. DNA on the ski mask matched Taylor's DNA, giving detectives the solid evidence they needed. Taylor was convicted and sentenced to life without parroll.
Detectives have since learned that Boris Graham was Taylor's accomplice and the driver of the Bentley during the chase. Graham was last spotted in Chicago, Illinois and is still on the run. |
