Chaka Raysor-Leader Of The Pack |
|
| |
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, along with the U.S Attorney's Office in New York, is on the hunt for Chaka Raysor. Officials report Raysor has been a key player in one of the largest cocaine rings in metropolitan New York. Raysor is believed to be the leader of a crew known as "The Killers;" a gang suspected in more than forty homicides during a ten-year reign of power on the Brooklyn streets. |

Innocent Victims Caught In The Crossfire |
|
| |
Agents assert there is one case that stands out in "The Killers" portfolio of violence and horror. Just before midnight on July 15, 1988, Raysor and his crew were on a vengeful hunt for a man known as "White Owl." Mary Williams and her family were outside, packing their white Volvo for vacation. Raysor and his crew saw "White Owl" on the very block where the Williams' family was gathered. According to agents, Raysor passed around a duffel bag full of weapons. "The Killers" opened fire, striking the Williams': Mary Williams was shot in the side; her husband, in the head. Their son, Alfair, was killed, and two other young men were wounded in the rampage. |

Reputed Drug Leader Still On The Run |
|
| |
In 1998, cops raided gang member Ronald Stanley's house to arrest him on a gun charge and found a chart detailing Chaka Raysor's organization. But even after the brutal attack that tragically affected the innocent Williams' family, agents still had trouble getting to Raysor. When they stopped him on the street he was clean-- drug and weapon free. The U.S Attorney's Office, New York police and the Bureau of Alcohol,Tobacco and Firearms set up a task force to bring Raysor's drug ring down. Through witnesses and informants, the task force amassed enough evidence to charge Raysor's associates, including his brother and cousin, with multiple offenses. Thus far, seven members of the ring have been tried and convicted. Chaka Raysor remains on the run.
